The project comprised the restoration of the front façade stonework ensuring a complete match with the existing Portland stone.

Tadeusz Sudol the Architect from Thierry W Despont Limited wanted to ensure that the Portland stone selected for the restoration of the Polo Ralph Lauren Store exactly matched the existing stone on this grand building.

He therefore flew in from New York to specially select the best possible Portland Stone match. After visiting the quarry and viewing the Quarry Control Samples Bowers Whitbed was selected.

Mr Sudol then proceeded to select the exacting blocks for his project and in fact was able to select 95% of the stone required for the project at that time.

Albion Stone manufactured approximately 10 cubic metres of material between December 1998 and March 1999. The finished pieces were then skilfully fixed by Szerelmey Limited.

The project was completed in the late Autumn 1999.
