Condor House

St Paul's Churchyard, London, EC4M

  • Developer: Greycoat Estates
  • Architect: Rolfe Judd
  • Main Contractor: Sir Robert McAlpine
  • Material: Portland New Independent Whitbed

Condor House is A prestigious 7 storey project with both retail outlets and office space in the heart of London.

An initial site visit showed that the original stone work had very little shell content, but some openness. The existing stone had also been heavily lime washed “toshed", this process had disguised the true nature of the stone, which was revealed later through testing.

Portland New Independent Whitbed, Portland Basebed and Portland Bowers Whitbed samples were sent for client approval and Portland New Independent Whitbed was selected as it had all the features of the existing stone and would merge seamlessly with the present stonework over time.
