Independent Quarry
Extraction has ceased in Independent and whilst some stock remains of the various beds of stone produced from this quarry, all but the Grove have been reserved for projects. The Grove stock is now included on the Bowers sheet for ease of printing.

Range Panels
Albion Stone has constructed 3mx2m panels containing 18 stones from different blocks from throughout the quarry for each individual bed of stone. The panels show the range of typical geological characteristics that are naturally present in the stone. It is important to remember that not all features are equally distributed across the entire quarry and concentrations of some characteristics may be more prevalent from time to time.
The Range Panels are designed to show a good representation of what the different stones will look like on a building facade and gives the Project Team the opportunity to select their own choice of Portland Stone with confidence. Whichever stone is selected, we strongly recommend that all customers come to the factory at Portland to view these Range Panels.
